Price is based on 2 persons, twin share in 3* accommodation with breakfast .  Groups of up to 40 can easily be catered for including different levels of accommodation and meals offered.

Day 1: Arrival - Amman

Location : Amman, Jordan

Our representative will meet you off your plane and escort you through Immigration.  Proceed to the carousels to collect luggage and pass through Customs.  In the Arrivals’ Hall your English speaking guide will be waiting to welcome you to Jordan and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 2:  Amman – Jerash – Ajloun – Amman

Location : Jerash, Jordan

This morning we head north to Jerash, the best preserved Roman provincial city in the Middle East.  With your guide enter through Hadrian’s Arch to begin your tour of these extensive ruins.   Return to your driver at the entrance and continue on to Ajloun.  The castle sitting high above the Jordan Valley is a wonderful example of Islamic architecture.  Return to Amman.

Day 3:  Amman – Madaba – Mt Nebo – Kerak - Petra

Location : Petra, Jordan

Taking the Kings’ Highway, an ancient caravan route, we head south to Madaba to view the famous mosaic map of the Holy Land, located inside the 6th Century St George Church.  Our next stop is Mt Nebo where God permitted Moses a glimpse of the Promised Land before he died.   From the lookout, see Jericho, the Jerusalem Mountains, Dead Sea and Jordan Valley.  

Continue along the Highway passing through Wadi Mujib to reach Kerak.   Kerak Castle was built by King Baldwin I in 1132/34 and was a Crusader Castle.    Travelling further south we will arrive at Petra.

Day 4:  Petra

Location : Petra, Jordan

This morning pass through the entrance gates of Petra, the “lost city” and step back in time to an ancient culture.  Begin by walking through the Siq (chasm), exiting in front of the breathtakingly beautiful Treasury.  Walk through the Street of Facades, explore the Royal Tombs and many other ruins to reach the Museum.   Stop at one of the restaurants before continuing your explorations.  You may like to climb the 800+ steps to the Monastery or the High Place of Sacrifice.  Perhaps wander through other ruins in the city proper.  Return to your hotel via the Siq.

Day 5:  Petra – Little Petra - Wadi Rum

Location : Wadi Rum, Jordan

A short distance from Petra is Little Petra, once the area where crops were grown and cameleers rested their animals before entering Petra or heading off on the Spice or Silk Roads.   Follow the dirt road to reach a Neolithic village (9,000-5,500 BC), one of the oldest sites in Jordan.  In the afternoon we transfer to Wadi Rum, a vast desert in southern Jordan.  Climb into the back of a 4WD jeep for a 2-hour tour, stopping at a key location to watch a dazzling sunset.   Transfer to your desert campsite for dinner and overnight.

Day 6:  Wadi Rum – Aqaba - Dead Sea

Location : Dead Sea, Jordan

Today we head to the Dead Sea, passing through the seaside resort town of Aqaba on the Red Sea.   At the beginning of the Dead Sea we will take a photo stop at Lot’s Wife’s Pillar.  Along the highway look out for local farmers selling their fruit and vegetables. 

The Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth, is 420m below sea level.  The Sea itself contains over 30 minerals and is reknown for its therapeutic values.   Once you have checked in to your hotel, wander down to the foreshore and float in the Sea, 7 times saltier than regular sea water.

Day 7:  Dead Sea – Amman

Location : Amman, Jordan

Enjoy a late check-out before driving back to Amman.   Upon arrival take a city tour and stop at the Citadel, the oldest site of civilization in Amman and the nearby Roman Theatre, still used today for concerts.  Proceed to your hotel to check-in.

Optional Extra Day - Petra Back Road

Price : Dependent upon number of participants

You've travelled a long way to reach Jordan, especially Petra, so why not spend another full day at this amazing lost city.

This morning you will be driven to Little Petra, once a "suburb" of Petra where crops were grown, animals grazed and cameleers rested.   With your guide follow the trail through the mountains to reach Petra near Ad Deir (the Monastery).  After exploring this stunning building, descend via the hand-carved Nabataean staircase to reach the lower city of Petra.   Continue exploring the ruins of this city before returning via the Siq to the entrance gates, and your hotel.

Price includes:  transfer to Little Petra, entrance fee to Petra, full-time hiking guide and an additional night's accommodation,
