🇬🇭 11 day, 10 night Experience

Our journey will begin with a flight from JFK Airport in New York to Kotoka International Airport in Accra, marking the start of a memorable experience.
Please note, that all transportation within Ghana (including airport pick ups/drop offs) are included.
Here, we’ll visit the memorial dedicated to the enslaved Africans who passed through this region, gaining a deeper understanding of their journey. It’s a chance to connect with the past in a profound way, reflect on the resilience of the ancestors, and honor those who endured unimaginable hardships. The experience will be both moving and educational, adding another important layer to our time in Ghana.
A deeply moving experience awaits when we visit the Door of Return, a symbolic site marking the return of the African diaspora. This monument stands as a powerful reminder of the resilience of those who were taken from their homeland through the transatlantic slave trade. For many, this will be a profound opportunity to reflect on the journey of their ancestors and connect with the enduring legacy that links Africa to its descendants around the world. It's a moment of both remembrance and reconciliation, a chance to honor the strength and spirit of those who never made it back, as well as those who have now returned.
For everyone else, it’ll be a chance to sleep in, relax, and take full advantage of the resort’s amenities.
Whether you’re unwinding by the pool, discovering the local surroundings, or simply making the most of some downtime, the day is yours to enjoy. Later that afternoon, everyone will gather again for a traditional drum and dance class.

Led by local instructors, we’ll dive into the rhythms and movements that are at the heart of the culture. It’s a high-energy, hands-on experience where we’ll have fun learning together, connecting through music and dance, and embracing the vibrant spirit of the community!
Later this evening, we’ll keep the energy going with a fun pool party & group dinner at the resort! It’s the perfect chance to unwind, enjoy some great music, and mingle with the group in a relaxed, lively setting.
We'll be savoring great food and sharing memorable moments to cap off an amazing day.
The next day, we’ll embark on ant hat offers a deep dive into various sectors shaping the local economy. We'll explore key local industries, including agriculture, real estate, textiles, and ocean preservation. This tour offers a unique opportunity to learn about potential partnerships, investments, and ways to support these growing sectors.
This is a chance to introduce ourselves, share more about who we are, and learn from the community through conversations and feedback. We’ll take photos, engage with the locals, and truly immerse ourselves in the culture.
The next day is the big day—the official Sister City MOU Signing Ceremony between Pittsfield, MA, and Cape Coast, GH. This momentous event will formally connect our two cities, fostering a partnership that extends beyond borders and opens doors for future collaboration.
The ceremony will feature key speakers, distinguished guests, and local chiefs + leaders, who will share their insights and celebrate the strengthening of ties between our communities. The day will be filled with lively music and entertainment, delicious food, and a festive atmosphere, as we come together to honor this new chapter of connection and celebration.
It’s a powerful occasion that signifies the foundation for growth, cultural exchange, and lasting relationships, not just between our cities but beyond.
Our time with the high school students will be an exciting and impactful day. We’ll host panel discussions designed to broaden their perspectives on development and life after high school, offering valuable insights into resources available both within their community and beyond.
The discussions will aim to inspire and equip students with knowledge, while also helping to foster connections that open up future opportunities. Alongside the panels, there will be plenty of entertainment, including a live DJ and a few surprise guests – ensuring a fun, engaging atmosphere where learning and good times go hand in hand!
This day will be all about relaxation and rejuvenation, with neck, hand, and feet massages to help us unwind and recharge. We’ll also enjoy a departure group dinner, carefully curated to nourish body, mind, and spirit. This will be the perfect opportunity to reflect on our journey, indulge in self care, and enjoy some peaceful down time prior to departure.
