Booked a spontaneous visit to Gili Meno Island and ended up at this beautiful yoga retreat. So impressed with their ethos and had a beautiful weekend soaking up the chill vibes.
Mao Meno Resort is a hidden gem in amongst the palm trees and wandering cows...make sure you check it out.
Perfect for travellers wanting an eco-friendly, quiet, affordable place to stay on an island without the crazy party vibes.
What I loved about the island in particular was that there were no cars or motorbikes. This meant that the pace was much slower. The only form of transport were tuk-tuks pulled by small horses (adorable!).
The beaches are full of coral and there are plenty of snorkelling options for those more coordinated than me.
It is only 2 1/2 hours away from Bali on a fast boat.
I booked the boat to the island through a local agent in Ubud, any of them will do. The ride is over 2 hours to get to the dock from Ubud and then a 2.5 hours via fast boat.
BE SURE TO ASK FOR THE "FAST BOAT"!
