We are thrilled to partner with the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade) to offer agtech and water tech startups the opportunity to enjoy a high quality, curated Tel Aviv program designed to help participants grow their companies by providing strategic value.
This is our third mission to Israel, and our second mission focussed on agtech. The mission is being led by Dr Baden U'ren.
We have 12 places available on this mission, including 5 places being funded by Advance Queensland for Queensland-based agtech/water-tech startups. If you wish to apply for a funded place please do not register here, instead apply via this link. Applications for a funded place close 15 September.
Israel is known for its leading technology and innovation expertise (especially in the agricultural sector) with arguably the most important innovation ecosystem outside the United States.
Some Israeli technological achievements include the invention of drip irrigation, the development of the cherry tomato and the highest average milk production per cow in the world at more than 12,000 litres per annum. Due to Israel’s shortage of natural resources, it has developed innovative methods and technologies for “growing more with less” under difficult conditions, long before increasing agricultural productivity became one of the world’s most acute issues.
With over 400 companies offering Agritech solutions, commercialisation expertise and leading academic institutions, Israel is well positioned to work and collaborate with Australia due to similar environmental challenges.
About the schedule
We curate our missions schedules around the participants. The landing pad team in Tel Aviv will be crafting a schedule that coincides with the WATEC event. The schedule will include meetings with investors, corporates and multi-nationals, startups, and ecosystem support services.
Arrival and Welcome Breifing
Your first chance to meet the Startup Catalyst team and the other amazing founders and leaders you will be spending the next week with! You will spend the afternoon getting to know everybody, planning what you aim to get out of the week and, as always, important logistics information.
You will also get to meet you Trip Leader for the week - Baden U'ren. Baden leads the entrepreneurship discipline at Bond University, consults with corporates on innovation strategy, leads the community leaders mission to Silicon Valley and Israel for Startup Catalyst, cofounded agtech startup AgriChain, and is the Gold Coast facilitator for Techstars Startup Weekends.
Full Program plus WATEC Israel
The full mission program will run from 17-21 November and will include some sessions at WATEC.
Over a decade of successful conventions, the global WATEC community has built and shared a growing body of important knowledge and showcased a range of revolutionary technologies and solutions.
WATEC 2019 will mark an exciting departure from previous conventions. Not only will you be kept up to date and well informed on developments and trends related to water and environmental management, but there will also be a strong focus on building important connections and networks that will allow for ongoing engagement and global co-operation.
This event is the ideal platform to maximise exposure, build diverse networks in the industry, remain on the cutting edge and catch up with old friends and colleagues.
