Sustainable Development Fee (SDF) *REQUIRED TO BE PAID BY ALL GUESTS

Sustainable Development Fee (SDF): Bhutan imposes a Sustainable Development Fee of US$ 100 per person per night. This fee is part of Bhutan's high-value, low-impact tourism policy designed to preserve its cultural and environmental integrity. The SDF covers government royalties and contributes to sustainable development projects in Bhutan. You will pay this to us and we willf orward it tot he Government and complete the appropriate paperwork. Included in your pakcage is also your Visa Fee of US$ 40 which we will also arrange for you.

The SDF was previously $200 per day, but was reduced by 50% in September 2023. The government hopes the lower fee will encourage more tourists to visit the country.

The SDF is intended to promote carbon-neutral tourism and protect Bhutan's natural and cultural heritage. The tourism sector is important for Bhutan's economy, generating employment, earning foreign exchange, and funding environmental, social, and infrastructure projects.
