After a hours or even days of travel from your home country, we catch a flight from Delhi to leh, and the air finally turns crisp and clear in the Sham Valley. Today is designed to be a soft arrival, inviting our group to settle into the story of a Ladakhi heritage home, stretch our legs, and gently and tune our breathing to altitude.

We step inside Nimmu House for a personal home tour that moves through sunlit courtyards, carved rooms, and a royal history. Because this is one of our closest partner properties, hosts share the restoration story and family history with warmth that feels like a welcome rather than a script. You begin to understand Ladakh through architecture, hospitality, and the slower rhythm of village life centered around rivers and orchards. We follow this day of recovery and adjustment with a nourishing garden supper that sets a restorative tone for the week.

Morning light reveals irrigation channels, stone paths, and neighborly smiles. Culture lovers meet makers and choose trail snacks for remote valleys, while the adventure track greets Ladakh’s terrain with yoga and an MTB shuttle ride above Lamayuru.

Our story widens through an epic drive into Zanskar with village classrooms, hilltop ruins, and yak paths that seem made for riding. Everyone completes the long drive together from Nimmu to Zangla, but then Cultural explorers linger in the Zangla palace, while the adventure crew adds some MTB laps on a short descent beneath the royal walls.

After our long drive from Nimmu to Zangla, visit the Chomo Gonpa school to share tea, meet teachers, and see how community education is growing. Your presence here and tour payment supports these school programs. Continue to Khar Kongma Palace for a guided wander through rooms and rooftops, and when schedules allow, meet the prince who helps steward the complex. Our local friends open doors and context, turning old stones into living heritage.

We also join for tea at Chomo Gonpa School, then move to the Palace, but from there our shuttle vehicle unlocks repeatable MTB laps around the palace. The line threads cliffy paths and twisting corners that reward quick responses and relaxed posture. Guides set up photos with the setting under the palace making each run feel cinematic. 

Simple rituals help create lasting memories. Discover culture in kitchens and cool spray at a local waterfall, while adventurers take a dramatic mountain walk to an ancient stronghold. We all converge at Sheela Phu for camping where three valleys meet and the night sky feels impossibly close.

Rise early to milk the local animals with our Zangla hosts and join for a khambir bread lesson where flour, heat, and laughter fuel the time. A short drive to our friends near Sheela Falls lead a visit that layers stories over scenery and help curate a picnic under Bher Pha trees with a private menu from our cook team. After driving to our camp trailhead, A short pause for chai and rest settles everyone, then we take a gentle hike to our Campsite above the village. This camping at the three valleys confluence ends the day with stars, quiet, and the comfort of good company.

After a hearty breakfast, set out on the very adventurous Malai Khartse hike with river crossings, scree slopes, and rock scrambles. Engage in some light foraging, learning the names and uses of hardy plants as the trail rises to wide views. Our team brews tea by the riverbank, then guides you onward to the hike to Sheela Phu Campsite where dinner waits. Camping at the confluence of three valleys and a wonderful meal adds to the magic of the sunset and stars. 

 

Culture seekers explore a hilltop monastery and celebrate in a village field, while the adventure group crosses a little known pass that feels like a secret path cross the high mountains.

After breaking camp, a tour of Stongdae Monastery tour brings you face to face with murals and quiet rituals high above the valley. Our guide translates symbolism and practice with care. After returning to our homestay, a Zangla dance lesson guided by our local friends gathers musicians and neighbors for a playful exchange. This is the kind of evening that turns strangers into friends and travelers into guests.

Our biggest hike of the trip from Sheela Phu to Kumik starts early in the morning before breakfast. The path carries you over an ancient and rarely visited trail from our camp, over a high pass, and into another ancient village. Our team will help manage your pacing, water, snacks, and pickup at the far side. Distance and gain make it a real accomplishment and the finish in a Kumik village feels earned and unique. 

Flowing water and wild geology shape the day. Cultural guests forage fragrant plants and share tea beside a hidden pond, while adventure seekers test their nerve on a traditional cable crossing before dropping into a seldom-touched descent that feels like downhill exploration.

After our drive from Zangla to Nerak, a short 4WD climb takes us to an epic viewpoint above the village. Here we wander ridgelines, foraging juniper berries and collecting bur karh for natural air fresheners while learning respectful harvest and seasonal practice. The walk ends at the village stream and pond for chai and a simple snack, a small pause that allows us to enjoy the setting and soak in the sounds of a village water source.

We begin the adventure halfway through our drive with an optional river cart experience, a traditional sky cable across the Zanskar that we operate with modern harnesses and a strict safety setup. From the same high start as the culture track, reached by 4WD to above Nerak, the Nerak MTB line drops through freeride slopes and faint yak trails. Our guides know each turn and keep the group moving with confidence while our shuttle vehicle enables more laps if your legs agree.
 

Craft and river are the highlights of the day. Culture glows beside hearth and anvil as artisans turn metal sheets into graceful shapes. Whitewater calls out with spray, laughter, and the satisfying pull of a paddle in the deep Zanskar River canyon.

Following our morning departure from Nerak, the Chilling metalworking experience brings you into family workshops where copper and silver become ritual objects and everyday vessels. You are invited to try the traditional metalworking process and talk about family tradition, markets, and local pride. When time and road conditions allow, we add an optional visit to Sumda Chun Monastery in a quiet side valley above Chilling or a visit to the abandoned village perched high above Nimmu.

To parallel our friends in Chilling, we drop rafts into the Zanskar from near Nerak to ride to Nimmu with a professional crew. This team helps us with support boats, thorough briefings, and a riverbank lunch that tastes better for being earned. Rapids alternate with calm water so the gorge can speak, and by our finish in Nimmu we complets a day that feels both thrilling and refreshing. 
 

Leh invites both craft and motion. Cultural travelers spend time with a masters of wool textiles and get some well-earned rest. The adventure group rides a park built by local enthusiasts or takes on a significant pass hike above the city.

After a refreshing night sleep and local breakfast at Nimmu House, Join our local expert for a half day fibers experience, the textile work ladakh is most famous for. Watch spinning and weaving, then try a few steps of the process yourself. Because these are long-standing partners, you get an inside look at the heart behind maintaining Ladakh's ancient handicrafts and leave with a deeper respect for the hands behind these textiles. After this, a deep rest with tea in the hotel garden and optional evening shopping trip round out the day.

If MTB is your cup of tea, we head to the local Leh trails at Disko Valley for flow and jump lines, as well as tea with the crew that helped build them. Or, if hiking is your style, we can opt for the Gyamtsa La hike if your legs want a high, wind-washed view of the valley. Either way, rich experiences and mountain views will fill this day of adventure. 

Leh’s layers come into focus. Culture enjoys a spacious day of shopping and meuseums that culminates in a sunset of quiet beauty, while the adventure track threads palace corridors and cliffside steps to viewpoints high above the city bustle.

After a relaxed breakfast at the hotel, we head to the Central Asian Museum which sets Leh within a wider map of caravans and exchange. The rest of the day is open for shopping and other leh experiences. Join one of our guides for a curated tour of the local shops, explore on your own, or head into old town to explore the textile outlets. After all this and a rich lunch in the market, you can join for an optional Shanti Stupa sunset walk. As the city lights appear and the mountains darken, the rich scene help secure in your mind all that we have experienced in Ladakh.

For a bit more challenge, hike up to Leh Palace and Tsemo Gonpa with a guide who brings the architecture to life. We explore the overhanging walkway and stepped paths to a ridge above town. The many stairs are rewarded with vast views, and those who want more experiences can continue to the optional Shanti Stupa sunset walk to watch the valley glow.

Delhi greets you with a comfortable hotel and a burst of vibrant life. Cultural explorers delve into a Sikh community kitchen that serves thousands, while the adventure crew wander through the heartbeat of Old Delhi. Everyone gathers later in a restored haveli where dinner becomes a celebration.

After our flight to Delhi and settling at a beautiful hotel, an optional afternoon outing at Gurudwara Bangla Sahib invites you to step into the langar, helping with simple tasks and witnessing a tradition of service that welcomes all. The experience is grounding and deep. In the evening we reunite for Dharampura dinner, a courtyard meal in a carefully restored mansion that carries Old Delhi’s grace into the present.

After some rest in the hotel, your guide leads a Spice Market tour across Khari Baoli’s lanes, up to rooftops with views of the chaotic alleys below, and into trusted local shops where the ancient tradition of spice trade still hums with life. The route is lively yet supported throughout, and by nightfall you are ready for Dharampura dinner with the whole group, trading stories over fragrant plates of mughlai cuisine

 

Local craft, rolling streets, and rich flavor secure Delhi into your memory. Cultural explorers learns a centuries-old printing art and optionally visit a quiet Mughal masterpiece. After a rich 5 star breakfast, the Khushbu block printing studio welcomes you into a space where masters teach design, dye, and pressure. You print your own piece to carry home. We suggest some afternoon rest to prepare for your upcoming travel, but an optional Humayun’s Tomb visit adds traditional gardens and red sandstone symmetry to the day, a calm counterpoint to the city’s pace.

Rise before breakfast for an early morning bike tour with our Nizamuddin partners to see a gentler Delhi before traffic wakes. Chai stops and neighborhood stories stitch the ride together. After our block printing class all together as a group, and as evening temperatures cool, a Delhi street food tour becomes a curated walk through beloved stalls, chosen to be both delicious and kind to traveller's stomachs.
