Glide through the pristine Canadian shield wilderness on your stand up paddleboard, while camping under the stars each night.
This trip is perfect for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who want to explore Ontario's beautiful landscape by water and land. Wildlife is abundant and your paddleboard and secluded campsite are the perfect vantage points to see it all.
This adventure begins at the Rock Lake Camping area, our launch and base for the trip ahead. We will spend the first day reviewing your paddling skills on the water and talking about all things SUP camping. The first night is spent camping at home base to ensure everyone is comfortable with setting up, using and packing their gear on board for the next day’s paddle.
The following morning with gear packed, we paddle out to a new campsite with our loaded boards. Landing at our new site, we learn about setting up camp and backcountry camping etiquette principles such as Leave No Trace. Options to relax at camp or paddleboard further to explore more of the gorgeous pine-clad shoreline.
Our last two days are either campsite moves or spent exploring from our wilderness base depending on park permits and weather conditions.
Bring your bathing suit, binoculars, cameras, art supplies or fishing rod to enjoy your downtime as you commune with nature in the way you love best.
This Algonquin Park SUP Touring & Camping Adventure combines exploring this incredible park and skill-building following the Paddle Canada Coastal Touring and the Paddle Canada Camping Basics programs. Participants learn how to navigate through the wilderness as well as select and set up campsites that leave no trace. MEET YOUR SUP LEADER
Hi! I'm Pam!
I am a certified Paddle Canada SUP Basic & Advanced Flatwater Instructor, as well as a Coastal Touring 1 Instructor. My goal is to share a love of the ocean, from the perspective of paddling and ocean literacy in order to foster connections between people and between people and the sea. My teaching style emphasizes safety & technical skills while having fun in a positive, supportive environment.
Having studied Marine Biology at the University of Guelph & Commercial Photography at Sheridan College, I am blending my passions through teaching SUP in BC and ON. My love of the water has led me to many aquatic pursuits - canoeing as a child, competitive sailing, sprint canoe/kayak racing and long-distance Outrigger Canoe racing before discovering the sport of Stand Up Paddleboarding.
