Our Intro to Expedition Courses is ideal for those who want to improve their paddleboarding skills, get Paddle Canada Certified and work towards week-long expeditions.

Discovery Islands Lodge, the perfect place to hone your paddleboarding skills and explore the amazing coastal environment around Quadra Island. It is also a great way to learn all more paddleboarding, from navigating in a coastal environment to route planning, as well as group management and self-care. MEET YOUR LOCAL GUIDE

Pam is a local guide who specializes in stand-up paddleboarding and ocean literacy. She is a certified Paddle Canada SUP instructor and has studied Marine Biology at the University of Guelph and Commercial Photography at Sheridan College. Pam's goal is to share her love of the ocean with others through paddling and to foster connections between people and the sea. Her teaching style emphasizes safety and technical skills while also having fun in a positive environment. Pam has been involved in many aquatic pursuits over the years, including canoeing, competitive sailing, sprint canoe/kayak racing, and long-distance outrigger canoe racing. She currently enjoys stand-up paddleboarding and loves sharing this sport with others. If you're looking for an experienced and knowledgeable guide to help you explore the local waters, Pam is your woman.

OCEAN SCENERY

If we get lucky, we may see some wildlife! This is a Pacific Harbour Seal, AKA Phoca vitulina richardsi. Did you know that the large eyes of harbour seals are protected by oily “tears” that help them see in deep dark waters? We will be paddling in a biodiverse region of BC so our chances for viewing a variety of sea birds and marine mammals is pretty good.
