Overview
You're invited to North Conway, New Hampshire for our 5th annual Snowventure Getaway! It's taken two years of patiently waiting until we could celebrate this anniversary, so to say we're excited is an understatement! Our Snowventure is great to join either solo or with friends and is truly customizable since you get to decide on all the activities you prefer. This Getaway is just for women and non-binary travelers!
For our time in North Conway, we've booked a fabulous rental house right in the village as our base for relaxation, connection, and adventure! At the house we enjoy communal dinners, movies, board games, conversation, and of course - the hot tub!
After the last few years, who couldn’t use a long weekend just like this?! Having hosted this getaway four times before - I can honestly say, it's one of my favorite times of the year and I hope you'll join us Thursday, March 9 - Sunday, March 12, 2023.

FAQs
Q: What if I can only come up for two nights?
A: That’s ok! However, this is a package price and will not be adjusted for partial stays as the bed is reserved for you. If you're able to work remotely, wifi is available at the house or there are cafes in the area where you could go to work.
Q: What time do we check-in and check-out?
A: On Thursday you can arrive to the house any time after 5PM and on Sunday you'll need to leave the house by 10:30AM. Some participants choose to come up early and stay later in order to enjoy the area, but just know you won't be able to access the house before or after those times.
Q: How do I decide what activities to do or book any needed tickets?
A: We can help you coordinate it all! We do recommend figuring this out in advance as there are sometimes discounts booking lift tickets online if you plan to ski/snowboard, and if the ice castles are on your to do list they can sell out. Check out the highlights section for some of our favorite activities in the area.
Q: Will the Ice Castles be open?
A: Typically this weekend is the last of the season for the Ice Castles, but it will all be dependent on temperatures! We have a 15% discount code for the Ice Castles! *Update* After opening later than usual due to mild temperatures, as of February 2, the New Hampshire location only has tickets released through the end of February, but may extend their season.
Q: I don’t have a car, how can I get to North Conway?
A: There is a Concord Coach Lines bus with two departures/arrivals a day from Boston, Boston Logan Airport, and multiple Southern NH stops to North Conway. We also typically have numerous local participants who drive to/from and can connect you to coordinate potential carpooling options. In addition, you may find it helpful to rent a car by yourself or share the cost with some fellow participants!
Q: How can I get around once in North Conway?
A: If you drove or carpooled with others, that’s the easiest way to get around! There is also Sutton Limos and Fast Taxi & Shuttle Service, both of which can be used for local transportation.
Q: What is the parking situation?
A: We have 6 spots at the house (1 designated for Kate, our trip host). If there are more cars than that we utilize overflow parking down the road at the local Walmart.
Q: With us staying in a rental house is there anything we need to do before departing?
A: Yes, we ask that all guests help us with stripping linens, taking out the trash, and throwing their towels into the wash before we check-out on Sunday morning.
Q: Can we throw a rager?
A: Sorry, this isn’t the trip for a loud party! We need to be respectful of our neighbors, and also fellow guests that may want to get up early to hit the slopes! That doesn't mean we won't be having fun though!
Q: Can I bring my pets or children?
A: Pets and children are not allowed on this getaway.
Q: I've been on this trip in the past and it was much less expensive, what's with the price increase?
A: If you attended the 1st - 3rd years we stayed at an old farm house that was farther away from all the activities, was very low budget, and the hot tub stopped working, plus in 2019 multiple cars froze into the ice on the driveway. In 2020 for year 4 we moved the location to a very nice house that is right in town, well-maintained and updated, and doesn't have tons of beds scattered about. It is naturally a more expensive rental due to the difference in quality. Shortly after our 4th Snowventure Kate founded Detailed Journeys LLC to offer small group tours & getaways, then the pandemic hit and she was unable to operate for 2.5 years. She has always planned to bring this gathering under the Detailed Journeys umbrella, and this now means the trip is covered by terms & conditions, as well as allows her to be paid for her time and energy putting together this trip so many of us have come to love! In addition from 2020 to 2023, the owner of the house changed his policies, for understandable reasons, so that the capacity limit is much lower (from 24 down to 14), which again increases the cost per person. However, after extensively reviewing all other large house/inn rentals and local hotels - this house still remains the best value and location. We hope you can understand and still join us!

The Hot Tub!

Ice Castles
Ticket sales open November 28 and you should book in advance, but we recommend waiting to coordinate with other participants so you can go as a group! **DRESS WARMLY** as you'll be outside the whole time and could spend 1 - 2 hours there, as well as wear boots with a tread as the ice/snow can get packed down and become slippery in spots.

Snow Tubing

Diana's Baths

Skiing & Snowboarding
If you're ready to hit the slopes, need lessons, and/or to rent equipment - read on and please wear a helmet! Below we're providing the most current pricing information (as of 11/9/22) for Cranmore Mountain, located less than a mile from our rental house. There are also multiple other mountains nearby where you can ski or snowboard if you're interested.
Lift Tickets:
Thursday, $99 ($89 online in advance)
Friday, Saturday, or Sunday, $109 ($99 online in advance)
Two day ticket, $198 ($178 online in advance)
Rentals:
$54 for skis, boots, and poles or snowboard and boots
$19 for helmet
Both can be reserved in advance online, which is recommended to ensure you have the equipment you need.
Lessons:
Pricing TBA for 2023 (will update ASAP)
If you want to take a lesson, you absolutely need to book in advance for it as they fill up. If you have never skied or snowboarded before, or have rudimentary skills we ask that you *please* take a lesson (or more) because participants that are experienced will not be responsible to watch/teach those who are not. Lesson rates include a lower mountain lift ticket and you can include rental equipment in your package.

Nestlenook Farms Winter Activities
You can book sleigh rides in advance, which is recommended. For all other activities it is first come, first serve if you need rentals.
