Welcome to Japan!
Where Land Meets Sea - A Walking Journey Through Tohoku’s Resilient Coast
Along Japan’s northeastern Pacific coast, sheer cliffs meet restless ocean swells, small fishing villages rest in protected coves, and communities carry forward stories of loss, strength, and renewal.
This trip traces sections of the Michinoku Coastal Trail through Miyagi and Iwate Prefectures —not as a challenge to conquer, but as a path to walk with intention. Here, movement becomes meditation, landscape becomes teacher, and story becomes connection.
We walk with presence. We pause with purpose. We integrate what we experience.
This journey is not measured in speed or distance. It is measured in awareness.
In Tohoku, nature is elemental and honest. The coastline reshapes itself. The sea both gives and takes. Villages rebuild. Through mindful hiking, cultural exchange, ocean immersion, and guided reflection, we explore how outer landscapes mirror our inner terrain.
This is more than a journey along northern Japan’s edge. It is an invitation to reconnect —with nature, with community, and with yourself.
*Please note that this trip is best for those with a moderate fitness level who are interested in immersing themselves in Japanese culture, cuisine, and way of life.
