Come with us, Raffaela and Paolo, to experience the best of Sicilian summer life, traditional festivities, glorious Mediterranean waters and the incredible food that we and our families have been preparing, eating and harvesting for generations. We’ll take you into the heart of local communities, showing you everything that makes them so unique.
During your stay you’ll not only feel like a local, you’ll become one, living amongst our families and friends and joining in all that we normally do. We’ll even teach you local phrases, gestures and attitude so you can truly immerse yourself in the local culture and have some fun with it.
Over this twelve-day unforgettable experience we’ve chosen our favourite places, activities and dishes to share with you. Everything will be organised and prepared for you... but there’s always room for spontaneity... because that’s the Sicilian way!

DAY 1 - Arrival Catania
We’ll pick you up from Catania airport and help you settle in to your luxury hotel, right in the heart of this magical city. Welcome dinner in the evening. This city is so pretty at night!
DAY 2 - Bronte
We’re headed to Bronte, famous for the bestquality pistachios in all of Italy. After a rustic lunch on a pistachio farm, we’ll travel up to Mt Etna for a volcanic aperitivo with local, indigenous wine. Free night to explore Catania.
Day 3 - Noto
Late morning let’s head for Sicilian granita and brioche in the beautiful baroque town of Noto. After a short walk around we’ll head to Buccheri (Raffaela’s mum, Francesca’s, town) and help you settle in to your very own Italian apartment. We’ll enjoy some leisure time before making our way to the spectacular, ancient island of Ortigia for aperitivo, exploring, dinner and dessert.
Day 4 - Buccheri
Spend the morning at your own leisure. Then enjoy a typical Buccheri lunch made with the freshest local farm produce. You’ll meet our friends and family too, who you’ll see around town over the next few days. Enjoy some free time before heading to the spectacular fishing village of Marzamemi for a seafood dinner. Back to Buccheri overnight.
Day 5 - Leisure Time and Olive Oil
Wake up at your own leisure today, then come and explore Buccheri. Choose to visit Zio Ciccio’s olive plantation and taste the super fragrant, flavoursome olive oil he makes himself. You will remember this forever! Another treat at night; Ragusa Ibla where we’ll indulge in a heavenly two Michelin star degustation dinner. After a short stroll we’ll head back to Buccheri to sleep... heavily!
Day 6 - Chocolate with Modica
Today we’ll meet an award-winning foodie family in Modica, who will teach us to cook some traditional Sicilian dishes. They’ll also demonstrate the antique style of chocolate making that has made Modica famous. Time for a stroll and aperitivo in the town centre before a light dinner. Last sleep in Buccheri. Don’t forget to say goodbye to your new local friend Giovanna before you leave. She’s such a character!
Day 7 - Palermo
It’s a very early start this morning but it’s worth it. We’re driving to Palermo for a street food tour of the city’s oldest outdoor market. We’ll show you some of the city’s main attractions before leaving you to explore on your own for a while. Then we’re off to Paolo’s home town Trappeto, our beach-side home for the next 4 nights. After settling in to your own Italian apartment, we’ll meet for dinner.
Day 8 - Ricotta-making with Paolo's Zia Enza
Ricotta-making with Paolo’s Zia Enza is an option for those who join us for breakfast this morning. Enjoy the beach today or have some leisure time. Mid-afternoon we’ll travel to the medieval town of Erice for coffee and typical almond sweets before a sunset aperitivo at the salt pans of Trapani.
Dinner in Trapani and then back home to Trappeto.
Day 9 - Boat Trip to the finest seafood
Join us for a private boat trip to one of Sicily’s most spectacular natural reserves, Riserva dello Zingaro. There will be multiple opportunities to stop for a swim in crystal-blue Mediterranean waters, each stop more beautiful than the previous, or simply relax on the boat. The boat will be fully stocked with food and drinks but be sure to leave room for a mouth-watering dinner in Castellamare tonight.
This is Sicilian seafood at its finest.
Day 10 - Pasta Sauce and Ancient Ruins
We’re spending today with some Trappeto locals at their villa where we’ll help make tomato pasta sauce from scratch and home-made maccheroni. At night we’re going to a summery starlit concert at the nearby ancient Greek amphitheatre of Segesta.
Tonight’s our last night in Trappeto.
Day 11 - Luxury in Cefalú
Let’s celebrate the annual day of Cefalùs patron Saint Sebastian. Experience a festive Sicilian day on the beach and take part in ancient traditions. A quick change at our luxury hotel in Cefalú before dinner. Free time at night to walk around the outdoor market and food stalls.
Day 12 - Departure
Time flies when you’re having fun! This morning it’s our ‘arrivederci breakfast’ before we drop you off at Palermo airport.
But don’t despair, you’re now Sicilian enough to continue enjoying ‘La Bella Vita’ wherever you are in the world!
