Our adventure begins as we travel to Getaria, renowned for its Txakoli wine and exceptional grilled fish restaurants serving the freshest catches from the harbour. Here, we'll explore the Txakoli wine area and visit an artisanal cheese maker and a traditional Cantabrian anchovy artisan producer. Next, we'll savour the delightful Txacoli wines, crafted along the stunning Basque coast.
Lunch will be by the seaside, featuring the famous grilled fish Getaria is known for.
To conclude our day of indulgence, we'll settle into our centrally located luxury accommodation in San Sebastián.
Today, our journey in San Sebastián begins with a visit to Playa de Zurriola and Monte Igueldo for stunning panoramic views. We'll then explore Pasajes de San Pedro, a charming village known for its colourful houses along the sea channel. Lunch will be a delectable multi-course Basque feast, renowned among culinary circles and you'll surely cherish it too.
In the late afternoon, we return to San Sebastián for leisure time, perfect for a beach walk or swim at the iconic La Concha beach. In the evening, we'll indulge in pintxos at one of the city's renowned bars, a must do experience in San Sebastián.
Today, we offer a unique culinary adventure in San Sebastián. You'll experience an exclusive lunch in a venue typically reserved for Basque men, known as sociedades gastronómicas. These clubs have preserved Basque culinary traditions and today, we have special access to the most prestigious of them all, offering an insider's perspective.
Our host is a talented local chef frequently sought after by San Sebastián's elite. You'll spend the morning preparing traditional dishes and discussing Basque cuisine. Afterward, enjoy your culinary creations for lunch, paired with local wines, in the society's welcoming dining area.
