Tennis Safari in the Serengeti

Arrive in Africa at the Kilimanjaro Airport (JRO). Major airlines fly to Kilimanjaro from various locations throughout the globe. Our team of experts will help you select the best route from your home city. You will be greeted by a private driver and driven to the 5-star Grand Melia Arusha for your stay.

With spa, infinity pool and gym and only 5 minutes to the tennis center. It is the perfect gateway for our Safari, whether you are playing tennis or not. 

Most flights arrive late at Kilimanjaro Airport, so on this day, we will relax, get settled and hopefully get a good night's sleep. 

Tennis Package: After breakfast, transfer to the Arusha Gymkhana Club, located across the street from the hotel, where 3 recently renovated courts await. We will play tennis in the spirit of camaraderie and delight in the surroundings while having a great time perfecting your doubles skills in this remarkable continent. 

Each afternoon, you can play more tennis with your fellow travelers and Gigi's staff of coaches or participate in one of the many excursions the area has to offer. 

Safari Package – Day trip to Mount Kilimanjaro where you can do a moderate hike, partake in a scenic Helicopter Ride or visit the Chagga Caves.

The Chagga Caves, located in the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania, hold great historical and cultural significance. Carved out of volcanic rock by the Chagga people, an ethnic group indigenous to the area, these caves served various purposes throughout history. Initially used as shelters and hiding places during times of conflict, they later became storage facilities for crops and valuables. Some caves were also used for spiritual ceremonies and rituals. Today, these caves provide visitors with a fascinating glimpse into the traditional way of life of the Chagga people and offer opportunities for exploration and cultural discovery amidst the stunning natural surroundings of Kilimanjaro.

Evening: Welcome Cocktail Reception and Dinner at the Grand Melia Rooftop.

Tennis Package: After Breakfast transfer to the Arusha Gymkhana Club covering Steps 2 and 3, Court Coverage and Serve. In the afternoon you have the option to play more tennis or visit a local school or orphanage (bring supplies) or take a hike around Mt. Meru.

Safari Package: Visit the Tarangire National Park or another excursion of your choice. 

The Tarangire National Park is located about 70 miles from Arusha and is renowned for its vast landscapes dotted with iconic baobab trees and its abundant wildlife. Spanning over 2,800 square kilometers, it’s particularly famous for its large elephant population, offering visitors spectacular sightings of these majestic creatures. The park is also home to diverse habitats, including riverine forests, swamps, and savannah, fostering a rich ecosystem supporting a variety of species such as lions, giraffes, zebras, and countless bird species. Its scenic beauty and remarkable wildlife make Tarangire a must-visit destination for nature enthusiasts and safari adventurers alike.

Some of the other activities instead of the Tarangire National Park include:

• Visit the Mount Meru Waterfall
• Go on a guided Walking Safari. Your guide will be armed for safety. 
• Play golf at the Gymkhana Club
• Relax at the Gran Melia Arusha Hotel
• Shop the local mall and take in the local sights. 

Lunch and Dinner on your own.

After another Gigi Method Morning Clinic, we will transfer to Arusha Airport for our Private Charter ride to the Serengeti National Park. Safari only packages will leave earlier in the morning. 

Upon arrival at the airport in the Serengeti, we will be greeted by our safari guides. We will have our first Game Drive on the way to the hotel where we will begin our search for the Big Five.  (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, African Buffalo and the elusive Black Rhino)

The Meliá Serengeti Lodge is a luxury hotel located in the heart of Serengeti National Park. It offers a unique safari experience with its location overlooking the Mbalageti River and expansive views of the surrounding savannah. The lodge features comfortable accommodations, including stylish rooms and suites. Guests can enjoy amenities such as a swimming pool, spa, and views that go forever.

Day 5 to Day 7 - Game Drives in the Serengeti while staying at the Melia Serengeti Lodge

The Serengeti National Park is a vast and iconic ecosystem located primarily in Tanzania, with a smaller part extending into Kenya. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the oldest ecosystems on the planet. It is renowned for its annual migration of wildebeest and other herbivores such as Zebras, Giraffes, Impalas, Gazelles, Topis, and more. The Great Migration is often considered one of the most spectacular wildlife events on Earth. Continue the search for the Big Five (Lion, Leopard, Elephant, Buffalo and the elusive Black Rhino) with your knowledgeable driver sharing details about the wonders you will witness.

Hot Air Balloon Safari

Hot Air Balloon Ride in the Serengeti followed by Bush Breakfast. This is a must-do for everyone! Conquer your fear of heights if you have it and you will be flabbergasted!!  

The balloons are driven by professional pilots, are very sturdy, and don’t get that high off the ground. The trip provides the most magical experience possible and the landing is soft and controlled.

After landing, we drive to a secure location for a very upscale and delicious Bush Breakfast consisting of Full English breakfast or local delicacies.  The afternoon can be spent on another Game Drive, relaxing in the hotel or going to the Spa.

Drive with our private guides to the Ngorongoro Crater where we might be lucky and witness the Great Migration.

We will stop en route to have lunch and will also make a stop at a Massai Village.

Stay at the Ngorongoro Lodge, part of the Melia Collection. Situated on the crater’s rim, this lodge provides jaw-dropping views of the Ngorongoro Crater. It offers a mix of traditional African architecture and modern comfort. It features luxurious accommodations with stunning views, a swimming pool, gym and spa, and a terrace where guests can enjoy the scenery or join a yoga or stretch session.

The Ngorongoro Crater is the largest volcanic caldera in Tanzania. It’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site and part of the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. The crater is known for its unique ecosystem, housing a variety of wildlife, including lions, elephants, and the elusive black rhino. It offers stunning landscapes and rich biodiversity within its confines. We will have a bush lunch in the Crater and will enjoy a full day surrounded by this majestic setting.

Return to dinner for Dinner with the group and an African Dance demonstration. 

Sadly all good things must come to an end.

Breakfast will be followed by an optional Morning Hike or our final Game Drive.

Check out at noon and depart.

En Route, we will stop at an “upscale” shopping center (time permitting) where you can shop for Tanzanite, buy African mementos, Tee Shirts, or anything else that will remind you of what will be a most extraordinary expedition. There is a lounge at the Kilimanjaro airport if flying business class or above. Fly home safely with cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
