This Jordan itinerary begins with your arrival in Amman, where you will receive meet-and-assist services at the airport before exploring the country's vibrant capital. Highlights include visits to the Citadel, Archaeological Museum, Roman Theatre, Jordan Folklore Museum, and King Abdullah Mosque, offering a glimpse into Jordan's rich history and culture. The journey continues to Jerash, one of the world's best-preserved Greco-Roman cities, where you'll discover its ancient theaters, temples, churches, baths, and the impressive Cardo Maximus. The following day, travel south to Madaba to see the famous 6th-century Byzantine mosaic map at St. George's Church, then visit Mount Nebo, the biblical site believed to be the burial place of Moses. Continue along the scenic King's Highway to explore the magnificent 12th-century Crusader Castle in Kerak before ending the day in the legendary rose-red city of Petra for an overnight stay.

DAY 01: ARRIVAL AMMAN – AMMAN CITY TOUR – JERASH – AMMAN

Arrive at Amman Airport, where our staff will meet you at the gate as soon as you step off the airplane. You will receive full assistance with your visa and customs formalities. Next, you will visit Amman, the capital of Jordan and a fascinating city of contrasts.

You will visit the Citadel, which is situated on one of the highest hills in Amman and offers a splendid view of the old city. Near the Citadel, you will visit the Archaeological Museum, which houses an excellent collection of Jordan’s antiquities. Afterward, proceed downhill to the downtown area of the old city to visit the Roman Theatre, which dates back to the 2nd century AD. This historic site is also home to Jordan’s Folklore Museum, which displays various artifacts of traditional Jordanian life, including costumes, home furnishings, musical instruments, and handicrafts dating back to the 19th century. You will then conclude your sightseeing tour of Amman by visiting the King Abdullah Mosque to familiarize yourself with its classic and modern Islamic architecture.

From there, you will drive north to visit Jerash, which remains one of the most beautiful and best-preserved Graeco-Roman cities in the world today. Coming in a close second to Petra on the list of favorite destinations in Jordan, the ancient city of Jerash boasts a history of human occupation dating back more than 6,500 years. Archaeological excavations have unearthed two theatres, several temples, churches, a market, thermal baths, and the famous 600-meter Cardo Maximus alley, which is bordered by towering columns. Following the tour, you will transfer to your hotel in Amman for your overnight stay.

DAY 02: AMMAN – MADABA & NEBO – KERAK - PETRA

After breakfast, drive 30 km south of Amman to visit Madaba, “the City of Mosaics.” Visit the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George, where the famous 6th-century Byzantine mosaic map of the holy sites in the biblical world is found. Proceed to Mount Nebo, the place where it is believed that Moses was buried. Drive via the King’s Highway, the ancient road mentioned in the Bible, which links prehistoric villages from the Stone Age and biblical towns from the kingdoms of Ammon, Moab, and Edom, to arrive at Karak. Visit Karak’s Crusaders’ Castle, built in the 12th century AD, which is situated on a hilltop about 1,000 meters above sea level and surrounded by a valley on three sides. Proceed to the greatest city of the Arab nation, which existed 2,000 years ago: Petra. Overnight at a hotel in Petra.

DAY 03: PETRA VISIT – WADI RUM

The ancient Nabatean city of Petra was recently voted as one of the Seven Wonders of the World. In 1985, Petra was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Begin your visit by enjoying a walk or a short horse ride from Petra’s main entrance to the entrance of the old city, “Al Siq.” As you reach the end of the Siq, the first and greatest monument of Petra slowly comes into view. This is the famous Treasury monument, “Al Khazneh.” Indulge yourself and walk through the architectural and spiritual wonders of this majestic place, examining every detail in sight. After the visit, depart to the natural resort of Wadi Rum, “The Valley of the Moon,” a unique place unlike anywhere else you have ever visited. Arrive at the village of Rum, where you will be picked up by local Bedouins to explore this splendid desert. They will drive you in their 4x4 Bedouin pick-ups (6 passengers per pick-up) for approximately 2 hours to the Bed of the Valley of the Moon, to the great mountain of Al Khazali. Dinner and overnight under the stars in Wadi Rum.

DAY 04: WADI RUM – DEAD SEA

Drive to the Dead Sea, the lowest spot on Earth, 400 meters below sea level. Spend the rest of the day bathing and relaxing in the gently lapping waters of the Dead Sea, and be amazed that you cannot sink! Overnight in the Dead Sea.

Disclaimer
Payments: As soon as we receive your down payment, we will confirm your reservations and at this point, all change and cancellation policies will be in effect. KikiNetwork Travel will send you a finalized itinerary which will contain all necessary information including confirmation numbers, addresses, and phone numbers. We must receive 40% of the trip cost when you register for the trip. The full cost of the trip must be paid 90 days before the start date of the trip.

Food: All meals as listed. No alcohol is included unless stated in the itinerary.

Forms of Payment: We accept ACH transfers (1% fee and .30) and credit cards (American Express, Visa, and MasterCard). There is a 2.9 processing fee for MC and Visa credit cards, and American Express incurs a 3.9% fee. If you pay by check there is no additional fee. You will need to mail the check to Kiki Keating, PO Box 223, Georges Mills, NH 03751.

Airfare/Visas/Special Permits: You are responsible for your flight to the place of the trip departure. I am happy to advise and recommend the best flights for you. Please email me at [email protected] for more details.

I will inform you of any visa needs, and you must obtain any necessary visas and travel permits for all countries that you will be traveling to or transiting through. Visa and entry requirements may vary depending on your nationality, the length of your stay, and the purpose of your visit. Please make certain that your passport is valid for at least six months after the latest expected end date of your planned trip, as some countries will not allow entry if your passport expires sooner.

Insurance is required for any KikiNetwork Travel trip. KikiNetwork Travel requires an insurance plan with 100% of trip cost insured, $150,000 of emergency assistance and transportation, and a minimum of $50,000 medical evacuation coverage. I am happy to work with you to recommend one of my recommended insurance coverage companies. Please call me directly at 603-858-2733 to discuss and ask questions about travel insurance coverage.

Health and Safety Matters: Please visit your local hospital Travel Clinic. Your doctor will let you know what, if any, vaccinations or other health or safety precautions are necessary or recommended for your destinations. Cancellations: In addition to any cancellation penalties related to trip components we are not responsible for (e.g. permits, airfare, travel insurance, etc.), the following fees will apply:

Responsibility/Release and Assumption of Risk: By paying and signing up for a KikiNetwork Travel trip you are agreeing to the following statement; I understand and am aware that during the travel itinerary in which I will participate under the arrangements of KikiNetwork Travel and its agents or subcontractors, certain risks and dangers may arise, including but not limited to the hazards of traveling in unsafe areas or under unsafe conditions, the dangers of civil disturbance and war, unplanned forces of nature, or disease. In consideration of, and as part of the payment for, the right to participate in such travel itineraries, I have and do hereby expressly assume all of the above risks. The terms of this agreement shall serve as a release and express assumption of risk for myself, my heirs, assignees, administrators, executors, and all members of my family, including any minors accompanying me. I have read and fully understand the provisions and the legal consequences of this Release and Assumption of Risk and I hereby agree to all its conditions, especially noting and agreeing to the portion of this provision that releases the Company and its agents, employees, officers, associates, and subcontractors, to the extent permitted by law, from liability for the negligent or reckless acts or omissions of the Company’s affiliated companies or subcontractors.
