Stop following and start doing!
From the 7th century to the 10th century Hoi An was at the center of the Cham
empire’s spice trading route. Later, from the 15th century to the 19th century, it became a trading
port for the Chinese, Portuguese, Japanese, Indian, and Dutch with many of these traders
settling here.
With such multicultural influences and access to food and culture from around the world, a
unique cuisine and social culture developed - however for one reason or another today most
visitors to Hoi An remain unaware of its rich history, culture, tradition, architecture, and culinary
offerings.

Experience Mekong Delta like a local
Day 1 |
Ho Chi Minh City – Ben Tre! Leave the bustle Ho Chi Minh City behind for Ben Tre - the coconut kingdom. Arrive in a charming village, hidden under hundreds of coconut palm trees. Welcome to Ben Tre’s nicest homestay, a charming familial house composed of several bungalows, set in a tropical garden and on the Mekong river bank. Fresh coconut juice will be served, then check in your room. Take rest for a while then lunch will be served at the homestay’s open-air restaurant.
In the afternoon, you will cruise along the Ham Luong River visiting small factories that provide an insight into how the local economy works. Stops include a coconut charcoal factory, a coconut processing workshop where you can sample fresh coconut and see how every single part of this versatile nut is turned into food and other products, and a broom-making family, where brooms are made using coconut leaves – you can even have a go at weaving yourself! Stop at a peaceful village for a short walk to see more of local life in the community before traveling by bicycle or xe-lôi - a design of cyclo used only in the Delta, before taking a rowing boat along narrow canals back to the main boat. Return to the restaurant at the end of the afternoon and participate in a cooking class: “Bánh xèo” – Vietnamese pancake made from rice milk. A Special Barbecue dinner is ready to serve with fresh dishes including local seafood, vegetables, meats, ingredients and flavors cooked in the local style.
After dinner, relax with lemongrass and ginger foot bath, a local therapeutic method to relieve the pain and fatigue of the legs.
