Arrive from airport to Ohana Retreat Bali
Price: 350,000 rupiah for 1 car. Fits 4 people
Our location is on the quiet side but we are close enough to busy Canggu, so that you can have the best of both worlds.
A car will pick you up at the airport and bring you to Ohana. Expect a 1 hour 15 minute to 1 hour 45 minute trip, depending on traffic.
Day 1 - Echo Beach
Price: 100,000 - 150,000 IDR lunch per person at Santorini’s
After recovering from the flight we can start with a walk to nearby Echo Beach. From Ohana we can walk to our beach (Pererenan Beach) in about 12 minutes and then cross a walking bridge to our neighboring beach on the east, Echo Beach.
Have lunch at Santorini’s, a quaint Greek restaurant in Echo Beach.
Day 2 - Jatiluwih Rice Terraces
Price: 400000 rupiah for 1/2 day car rental
About 1.5 hours away, the famous rice terraces, Jatiluwih, has paddy fields following the contours of terraced land against the background of Mount Batukaru and Mount Agung. The Balinese use a traditional irrigation system known as subak, Bali's community-based water control management system. Jatiluwih is at an altitude of 700 meters, making for a cool atmosphere for walking.
Day 3 - Indonesian Cooking Class & the hipster town of Canggu
Price: 350000 IDR per person for the cooking class. Old Man’s or The Lawn can be 200,000-300,000 IDR per person depending on drinks
Around 11am you can start to work with Shelly here at Ohana and learn how to make a delicious Indonesian lunch dish.
After lunch we can visit the hipster town of Canggu (just 10 minutes away), and stay for the sunset at either Old Man’s or The Lawn.
Day 4 - Ubud, the Art & Spiritual Center of Bali
Price: 800,000 rupiah for a full day car rental for 4
Ubud is the arts and cultural center of Bali. There’s a lot to do. There’s a great trail leading from the town into the rice fields, called the Campuhan Ridge Walk. The first 15 minutes or so are uphill but not very strenuous. Once you are up on the ridge it is a splendid experience.
There are many temples, cafes and restaurants that are worth checking out.
If you want to indulge yourself you can pre-arrange lunch at the Ritz Carlton. Alternatively you can just visit the resort (its amazing) and ask for a ride through the place on a golf cart. The workers are usually happy to oblige if they’re not too busy (and they will also accept a 50,000 tip). Yet another option is visiting the Four Seasons Resort.
Day 5 - Potato Head & Seminyak
Price: 400,000 IDR for 1/2 day car rental. Potato Head does not change an entrance fee but food and drinks are on the pricy side. Still very much worth a visit.
Seminyak is about 25 minutes from Ohana, and we can start with lunch at the iconic Potato Head Beach Club. After lunch there's a lot of shopping options. Dinner in Seminyak is also a treat as there are great venues, both for dinner and clubs.
Day 6 - Water Palace Taman Tirtagangga
Price: 800,000 IDR for a full day car rental for 4 people
The trip is 2.25 hours but the palace is unique. It is a bit of royal Balinese history and the grounds are spacious and contemplative.
