We’re starting in Athens, where ancient history is all around you, from the Acropolis to centuries-old streets and incredible Greek food. Then it’s off to Mykonos, where the assignment is simple: slow down and enjoy yourself. Whitewashed streets, seaside cafés, iconic windmills, and plenty of sunshine. Please, do not rush. And then there’s Santorini. Those blue domes and cliffside views you’ve been saving? It’s time to see them with your own eyes. Think Oia sunsets, black-sand beaches, local wine, and plenty of “I can’t believe I’m actually here” moments. Greece has been sitting on that travel list long enough. It might be time to stop saving the pictures and put yourself in one. |
🪨 Terrain & Pace
Expect cobblestones, uneven pathways, stairs, hills, and inclines—especially at the Acropolis, through Mykonos Town, and around Santorini’s villages and viewpoints. Comfortable, supportive walking shoes are a must.
⛴️ Travel Time You’ll have two ferry travel days: Athens → Mykonos and Mykonos → Santorini, with each journey taking approximately 2–3 hours. Hotel and port transfers are included, making travel between destinations seamless. Exact ferry schedules will be confirmed closer to departure.

✨ Things to Consider
Santorini requires a bit more mobility. The itinerary specifically notes a significant number of steps associated with the winery portion, which may be challenging for travelers with mobility concerns. The full-day tour also includes Oia, Profitis Ilias—the island’s highest point—and Perivolos Black Sand Beach. The following day is completely yours to slow down, shop, find a café with a view, or simply enjoy Santorini with nowhere you need to be.

Exchange rates fluctuate, so the amount you receive at banks, ATMs, hotels, or currency exchange offices may vary slightly from the market rate.
You can exchange U.S. Dollars for Euros at banks, airports, and authorized currency exchange offices throughout Greece. ATMs are also widely available in Athens, Mykonos, Santorini, airports, ports, and other popular tourist areas.
Credit & Debit Cards: Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted throughout Greece, especially at hotels, restaurants, larger shops, and tourist attractions. American Express may be accepted at some establishments but is not as universally accepted, so it should not be the only card you bring.
Although card payments are common, having some cash on hand is still a good idea, especially for smaller cafés, local shops, markets, taxis, gratuities, and purchases on the islands.
Prior to departure, check whether your bank or credit card company requires a travel notification. Make sure you know your PIN if you plan to withdraw cash from an ATM.
Also check with your bank regarding international ATM fees and foreign transaction fees. When using an ATM or card terminal, you may be asked whether you want the transaction processed in U.S. Dollars or Euros. In most cases, choosing Euros (EUR) allows your bank or card issuer to handle the currency conversion and may provide a better rate.
Greece uses the Euro throughout the entire trip, including Athens, Mykonos, and Santorini, so you won’t need to manage multiple currencies. Keep a small amount of Euros handy for gratuities, cafés, local markets, taxis, and those little island purchases that somehow always find their way into your suitcase.
Tipping is customary and appreciated in Greece, though it is generally more relaxed than in the United States. In restaurants, taxis, hotels, and during guided touring, a tip is a thoughtful way to recognize good service.
For this itinerary, gratuities for guides, assistants, and drivers are not included in the tour package. The itinerary also notes that a full-time tour manager is not included, so there is no tour-manager gratuity to budget for.
