This magical attraction features over 2,000 colourful tropical butterflies floating freely among lush, exotic blossoms and greenery. Niagara Falls History Museum

Housing a vast collection of Niagara Falls history, the Museum provides a showcase for the unique history of the famous city.

The recent renovation and expansion was designed by Toronto firm Moryama and Teshima and have three unique galleries telling the most compelling Niagara Falls stories with engaging and hands on exhibitions. The museum is located within steps of the Drummond Hill Cemetery, which is the focal point for the Battle of Lundy's Lane which was the 'bloodiest battle of the War of 1812 and the starting point for any trip to this battlefield will be a visit to the Museum

Freedom Trail & Wine Country Charm

Visit St. Catharines with a guided visit to the historic Salem Chapel, where Harriet Tubman once worshipped, followed by stops at several landmarks connected to freedom seekers and Black Canadian heritage.

Day 1 - New York to Niagara: History and Arrival

Our adventure begins as we head out from New York City to Elmira, New York. Our first stop is the John W. Jones Museum, where we’ll learn the remarkable story of a man who escaped slavery and helped hundreds reach freedom. Then, we continue to Corning for a relaxed lunch on your own along historic Market Street, known for its great food and small-town charm. Afterward, we cross into Canada and arrive at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel in Niagara Falls. We’ll settle in and enjoy a delicious buffet dinner at the hotel as we prepare for the days ahead.

DAY 2 - Exploring Niagara Falls

After breakfast, we set off with our guide for a fun and informative tour of the Niagara area. We’ll take in famous sights like Clifton Hill, Queen Victoria Park, the Floral Clock, and the Welland Canal. There will be plenty of photo ops and interesting stories along the way! Then it’s on to the Niagara Parks Power Station for an interactive look at local history. We’ll cap off the day with a ride to the top of the Skylon Tower for stunning views, followed by a scenic dinner at its revolving restaurant.

Day 3 - Butterflies, History & the Falls Up Close

We start the day with breakfast, then head to the Butterfly Conservatory where you’ll be surrounded by thousands of colorful butterflies in a lush tropical setting. From there, we visit the Niagara Falls History Museum and learn more about the city’s past, including a special exhibit on Black Canadian history. We’ll enjoy lunch and free time at Clifton Hill, Niagara’s fun-filled entertainment strip. Later, we experience the awe of Journey Behind the Falls before wrapping up with a relaxing dinner at a local restaurant.

Day 4 - Underground Railroad Sites & Local Wineries

Following breakfast, we begin a special guided tour in St. Catharines, starting at the historic Salem Chapel where Harriet Tubman once worshipped. We’ll also visit local sites tied to freedom seekers and Black Canadian history. After lunch, we explore Fort Erie, Freedom Park, and other key stops along the Niagara Parkway. We’ll pause at Walkers Country Market for refreshments and souvenirs, then continue through beautiful Niagara-on-the-Lake. Our day ends with a wine tasting at Palatine Hills Estate Winery and dinner at AlMacs Buffet before returning to the hotel.

Day 5 - Back to the U.S. with Meaningful Memories

On our final day, we enjoy breakfast and check out before crossing the border back into the U.S. Our first stop is the Michigan Street African American Heritage Corridor in Buffalo, where we’ll take a guided tour of the Michigan Street Baptist Church and The Nash House. Next, we visit the Made in America Store for lunch and shopping—everything here is 100% American-made! We’ll stop once more at Oakdale Commons for dinner before heading home to Mount Vernon, filled with unforgettable experiences and stories to share.

CANCELLATION POLICY

The deposit is non-refundable and non-transferrable
- Cancellations must be submitted in writing to [email protected] on or before December 15, 2025.
  - Cancellations submitted on or before December 15, 2025 the final payment date will be refunded the amount paid less the deposit and a $150 administration fee.
  - Cancellations submitted after the final payment date will forfeit all payments made and no refund will be provided.

PAYMENTS

The full amount of the trip cost is to be paid by the final payment date.
Several payment options are available - you can pay in full or pay in installments.
A late payment fee of $250 per person will be charged if payment in full is not received by the final payment date listed on your invoice. Late payment fees are automatically added to your reservation the day after the final payment date.
Trips not paid by the final payment date are subject to cancellation and no refund will be provided.
All late payment requests must be approved by Overton Travel before the final payment date on your invoice.
