

Welcome to our 6-day Land-based Wellness Retreat
Our Bay of Islands Retreat is a blend of wellness activities like yoga, meditation and breathwork paired with Indigenous practices of connecting with the land, sea and air. We will spend time outside every day in a beautiful location surrounded by raw and rugged nature.
This experience is an invitation for remembrance, a recommitment to the path, and an opportunity to be fully present with a group of people on the path of recovery. It is an opportunity to help bring your recovery to a new level. The goal of this retreat is to learn tools and forge friendships that can last a lifetime.
You will enjoy eating wild, local healthy food in a community with like-minded people. We will hold a safe space to support you in your recovery and health and wellness journey.
Each day offers sunrise and sunset experiences and plenty of time to relax and explore the surroundings. We'll hike, explore the bay and immerse ourselves in Mother Nature.
Daphne March (the owner) is in recovery herself and on a path of discovery, and it is with great pride and joy that she invites you to share this experience with others. Newfoundland and Labrador is an extraordinary setting that will provide us will a deeply nurturing and unforgettable experience together. It will be an opportunity to reflect on our personal mission in life and give us the tools to move forward in our recovery.

(Day 1) Welcome to your ShaMaSha Retreat!
Join your group of like-minded people in Corner Brook, Newfoundland at Appalacian Chalets.
Upon arrival, settle into your chalet and then join the group for our welcome and trip orientation. Fireside, we enjoy tea and snacks, kicking things off with introductions and sharing circle.
After our evening meal, we will gather for a sacred circle before heading back to our rooms to rest for the night. The opening of the circle begins with gentle energetic practices. After this is complete we will meditate and be open and receptive to whatever our body is telling us while enjoying the silence.
Our recommendation is to make sure you are fireside to fully enjoy the sunset and watch as it drops over the Blow Me Downs.

(Day 2) - Picturesque views of the Bay of Islands
Sādhanā will be our daily morning practice. The goal of Sādhanā is to practice spiritual realization, which can be either enlightenment or a particular goal you are aiming to achieve from your experience with us and in your daily life.
Once we are finished with Sādhanā we will have a communal breakfast and prepare for the day.
Our aim for the day is to connect to the land and mother nature around us. We will hike, practice yoga and relax around a cultural food picnic. Weather allowing we'll take a boat ride to explore the beautiful Bay of Islands.
After our evening meal at the chalets, we will gather for a sacred circle. The opening of the circle begins with gentle energetic practices. After this is complete we will meditate and be open and receptive to whatever our body is telling us while enjoying the silence.

(Day 3) - Exploring the North Shore
Sādhanā and breakfast start the day. We board our bus for the day, heading off to explore the NOrth Shore Bay of Islands. This is a n area often overlooked by visitors and is the childhood home of Daphne.
The days will be spent working on our spiritual connection, and breathwork, taking gentle asana yoga classes, and spending time out on the land. You'll be invited to experience a dip in the overfalls to try wild swimming and test your breathwork.
Feel the vibration of this untouched natural space, pausing the world and allowing you to focus on yourself, the inner world here. This place brings solitude, healing, peacefulness, and the quiet needed to make a change, it helps remove fear, connect with the mother moon, and feel nurtured and safe.
In the evenings we will have the opportunity to journal our thoughts and settle down as the sun goes down.

(Day 4) - Free day to explore
Breakfast, movement and breath help us welcome the day.
Our aim is to provide space for you to seek what you need. Walk the Corner Brook trails, do some shopping, hike the Old Man in the Mountain trail or swim in Steady Brook falls.
After our evening meal, we will gather for a sacred circle. The opening of the circle begins with gentle energetic practices. After this is complete, we will meditate and be open and receptive to whatever our body is telling us while enjoying the silence.

(Day 5) - Cultural Food Workshop
After breakfast and our morning Sādhanā, we will dive into our cultural food workshop.
Food is an excellent way to connect with Mother Earth, provide your body with healing energy and re-connect with your cultural roots. The focus for this workshop is....
With our shared cooking experience complete, we enjoy our lunch fireside.

(Day 6) - Time to say goodbye!
After breakfast and morning Sadhana, we will begin packing up our belongings and preparing for the journey back home. It is here where we will exchange our goodbyes, exchange photos, and wish each other a safe journey.
