Where is the retreat located?
In Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic, near Cofresí Beach on the island’s north coast.
What airport should I fly into?
POP (Puerto Plata) is preferred and 20 minutes from the villa. STI (Santiago) is 80 minutes away and available at an additional transfer cost.
Are airport transfers included?
POP transfers are included. STI transfers are available at an added cost.
What is the weather like?
Warm, sunny, tropical. Expect 82–88°F days with a light ocean breeze.
Is Puerto Plata safe?
Yes. We stay in a quiet residential coastal area. As always, use normal travel awareness.
Do I need a passport?
Yes. Passports must be valid for the duration of your stay. No visa is required for U.S. travelers.
What’s included in the retreat price?
Accommodations, meals (except two dinners), sea glass excursions, wellness sessions, workshops, volunteer day, local transportation, and starter jewelry supplies.
Are meals provided?
Yes — breakfast, lunch, and five villa dinners. Two nights out is at your own cost.
Can dietary needs be accommodated?
Yes. Vegetarian, gluten-free, and lighter options available.
What is the villa like?
A 6-bedroom, ocean-view villa with A/C, balconies, pool, fountain, full staff, and close access to the beach.
How many people can attend?
Up to 8-10 participants for an intimate group experience.
Will I have my own room?
Private and shared options are available and assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.
Do I need to bring tools for the jewelry workshop?
No. All jewelry tools and starter supplies are provided.
How physically active is the retreat?
Activities are gentle and completely optional — including yoga, stretching, beach walks, swimming, and jewelry-making. You’re encouraged to move at your own pace and participate in whatever feels good. All of our sea glass beaches are easy to access with flat walking paths — no climbing or strenuous trails required.
What should I pack?
Light clothing, swimsuits, comfortable sandals, sunscreen, a hat, reusable water bottle, and any personal items.
Is Wi-Fi available?
Yes, at the villa. Sherri will also have a mobile WIFI to use as needed when out and about. Most restaurants and beach clubs have WIFI.
What is the currency?
Dominican Pesos, though USD is accepted.
Are alcoholic beverages included?
Available at the villa through an honor system at additional cost.
What is the volunteer day?
A meaningful day at Dove Youth Development helping with planned activities, games, and crafts.
How do payments work?
A deposit reserves your spot. Remaining payments can be made through your YouLi trip page.
Are refunds available?
Refund policies are outlined in your registration agreement and on YouLi.
Can I extend my trip?
Yes — let us know and we can assist with recommendations.
Is travel insurance required?
Strongly recommended for flights, medical coverage, and trip protection.
