*Spend a day exploring Sovereign Hill which tells the story of the great mid-19th century Australian gold rushes but also recreates the excitement of life on the goldfields during that era gone by! There is a Diggings, with a creek where you can pan for real gold, a living Township with dated period shops, hotels and factories, costumed staff enacting the good old days, a deep underground mine to explore and learn about 1860s mining techniques, a Chinese Camp and many other sights and activities that are beyond description and best enjoyed in their presence.
