Ideal for individuals, families, small or medium size groups (20 max) this tour encompasses Omani historical places of interest and natural wonders.

Tour available 1 January - 31 May 2019; 1 September - 31st December 2019.  (Not suitable during summer months (the desert's too hot).  

Each 4WD holds a maximum of 4 passengers.

Price will included breakfast Days 2 - 6 and dinner at Wahiba Sands on Day 4.  Half Board and Full Board options available upon request.

Day 1 - You've arrived! Welcome to the Sultanate of Oman

Location : Muscat, Oman

After clearing Immigration and Customs, look out for your chauffeur who will transfer you to your hotel in downtown Muscat.

Time to unwind.  Check out all the facilities at the hotel - I hope you backed your bathers as the pool looks fantastic and you will be seeing many other gorgeous watering holes during your travels!

Day 2 - A Tour of Muscat

Location : Muscat, Oman

After breakfast at the hotel, you will begin a half-day tour of Muscat, the capital of Oman.

The tour includes Sultan Qaboos Grand Mosque, an arcitectural monument, and Bait Al Zubair Museum which showcases Omani heritage with a vast collection of antiques, traditional Omani weaponry, jewellery, costumes, and more.

The driver through old Muscat, surrounded by steep mountains and flanked by the twin 16th Century Jalali and Mirani forts, extends to Al Alam Palace of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos.

A stop at Muttrah, the main port area is close to an ancient and colourful souk, just waiting to be explored.

Lunch at a local restaurant (at your cost) before returning back to the hotel.

Now you have a feel for the city, it's time to venture out on your own.  It's an easy city to get around so get a map from Reception at your hotel and being your exploration.

Day 3 - Beaches, Wadis and Turtles

Location : Muscat, Oman

After breakfast and check-out we head to Quriyat, a small coastal fishing village then on to Tiwi and Fins where a beautiful white sandy beach beckons for a relaxing swim.   Heading inland on a graded track, we drive to Wadi Shab, one of Oman's most spectacular wadis (valley), flowing with fresh water most of the year alongside banana plantations and rocky paths.

Back on the coastal road,we travel to Sur, famous for it's shipbuilding yards, and Ras Al Hadd where your overnight stay is arranged.

After dinner (not included in price), we drive to Ras al Jynz, a protected Green turtle nesting reserve.   During the nesting season, turtles can be seen laying eggs at night.  Of the seven types of turtles found throughout the world, five come to Ras al Jynz to lay their eggs.

Day 4 - Wahiba Sands

Location : Muscat, Oman

Today we travel to Wahiba Sands, one of the most fascinating and mysterious regions of Oman.

But first we will visit Wadi Bani Khalid, the evergreen wadi adorned with acascading waterfall, forming a turquoise pool ideal for swimming.

Hold on tight as your driver leaves the highway and enters the Wahiba Sands desert.  The amazing sand dunes support an astonishing variety of flora and fauna and the every changing patters of dunes are a photographer's delight.

Want to ride a camel?   Well now's your chance.  Or perhaps you would like to take a thrilling ride over the dunes in your 4WD.

At your campsite, enjoy dinner with other adventurers before heading to your Bedouin style tent to sleep..

Day 5 - Forts and Souks

After breakfast, take another exciting 4WD trip across the dunes back to the highway and head further inland to Nizwa, the capital of the interior and the birthplace of Islam in the Sultanate of Oman.

Nizwa boasts of it's famous Round Tower Fort, built in the 17th Century, and its fabulous Souq renowed for its Friday cattle auctions, Khanjars (daggers), oranmental silver jewellery and lovely clay pots.

Not too far away is Jabrin and the finest of Oman's castles builtin also in the late 17th Century.  Beautiful painted ceilings and workcarvings along with great displays of everyday life in a castle make a visit to the castle fascinating.

Day 6 - departure
