Asturias Spain Women's Multisport Adventure

Our program begins on June 8th at 3pm with a group rendezvous at the Asturias Airport (OVD) 

Where to Fly To

• Asturias Airport (OVD) on flights arriving before 3pm 
• Asturias Airport (OVD) has direct flights from European capitals such as Amsterdam, Brussels, Dusseldorf, Frankfurt, London, Lisbon, Milan, Munich, Paris, Rome, and Venice
• There is also High-Speed Train (AVE) from Madrid to Asturias that offers a convenient and comfortable travel option. You’d take the train from Madrid Train Station > Oviedo Train Station. *Once you arrive, you will have to transfer yourself from the train station to OVD to meet the group. 
• If you arrive the day prior, we recommend you stay nearby and return to the airport to join the group

Arrival to the Asturias Airport (OVD) by 3pm (local time) to join your AdventurUs group and guide. We'll transfer to Pola de Somiedo, in the heart of the Natural Park, where we will start our adventures the following day. After checking into your room, we’ll rejoin as a group to savor in a delightful welcome dinner together!

Ready to walk? Today, we will follow in the footsteps of history along an ancient Roman road that, for centuries, was the way of communication between Asturias and the Castilian plateau. We hike between high mountains until we reach the "braña", where we will sleep in the open air. Don't worry, our local guide will prepare everything for an exciting evening and night under the stars.

The Lake of the Valley is the largest lake in Asturias, with 24 hectares. It is located at the foot of a splendid glacial cirque, the origin of a tongue that extended down the valley. The route to Lago del Valle is 3.7 miles (one way) of ethnography, flora, fauna, geology and landscape. The colorful, diversity and the work of the land by humans are the predominant tones of this route. On the wooded slopes, beech and some arraclán are the dominant species. The rest are pastures and the everlasting “teito”, with which the roofs of the cabins of the same name are made. If we are lucky enough, we may see bears on the slopes from the route!

Today, we will explore the neighboring municipality of Belmonte in search of a semi-wild herd of “asturcones”, the region's native breed of horses. Their search will allow us to hike across a landscape inhabited by wolves, who prowl the areas meadows and peaks. In the afternoon, we will have a special opportunity to meet a local woman from the area. She will teach us how to cook the region's most typical dish: fabada, which we will, of course, taste!

We did it! A few days ago,we  were up in the high mountains hiking in bear territory, and suddenly we're at the beach. And it's surfing time! We have two options, depending on the weather and the state of the sea. Our guide will decide what activity is the best option once we know the weather.

Option 1: Ride the Pravia estuary on a Stand-up Paddleboard. This is a unique way to get to know the area's historical and industrial legacy actively.

Option 2: Have you tried surfing? Enjoy a beginner class where you will have fun in the waves on this beach. In both cases, we will finish our trip in one of Spain's most beautiful fishing villages enjoying a glass of wine while watching the sunset.

After breakfast, we will say “see ya soon” to our fellow AdventurUs friends, as we leave with memories to last a lifetime.  Our guide will transfer us to the Asturias Airport (OVD) for our departing flight. *We will be dropped off at 11am, so please schedule your flight to depart after 1pm.
