Overview: Starting with a transfer to les Houches, we will take a cable car up to start the Voza pass, an undulating trail leads through the alpine pastures and pine forests of the lovely Bionnassay valley. Then a steep climb over the Tricot pass reveals the quiet and quaint Miage valley on one of the prettiest corners of the TMB and known for their blueberry pie! Finally, we’ll descend to the small village of les Contamines for a night at a friendly hiker’s inn or a nearby hotel.
Overview: We start our day at the trailhead at the Notre Dame de la Gorge chapel. Hiking up along an old Roman road, we continue the TMB tour with a long, steady ascent across two lofty passes, the Col du Bonhomme, followed quickly by the Col de la Croix du Bonhomme. After lunch near the pass, we’ll descend into the Valle de Glaciers where we will be transferred to our hotel.
Overview: We’ll start with a morning transfer back to the valley to the trailhead at Ville des Glaciers. Hiking into the back of this bucolic valley, a gradual ascent leads through quiet alpine pastures to the Col de la Seigne, where we will cross from France into Italy. From the pass, you’re greeted by an amazing view into the Veny valley and the Mont Blanc range. The Aiguille Noire de Peuterey is particularly impressive from this vantage point, and Mont Blanc itself dominates the view ahead of you. We will continue down into this beautiful valley where we will meet our private taxi at the trailhead and transfer into the medieval village of Courmayeur. Courmayeur is a beautiful town with narrow, cobblestoned alleyways and a lively, pedestrian-only core.
Overview: After one of our favorite breakfasts, a second day in Courmayeur gives you a chance to either rest up or take an optional day hike high above town. The hike along a scenic ridge to the Bonatti Hut is always a highlight, a steep, wooded climb followed by a mellow and glorious balcony walk. From Bonatti, we descend down to the valley floor and take a bus back to Courmayeur. Courmayeur is an extremely atmospheric village, with cafes, bakeries, gelaterias, and stylish shops. It’s great for people-watching and relaxing. Or take the cable car high above the valley to the upper reaches of Mont Blanc (Monte Bianco in Italian) for close-up views of the highest peaks in the alps. The options are plentiful!
Overview: The Italian side of Mont Blanc is steep and rocky, and the Grand Jorasses rivals Mont Blanc as the focal point of our views. We’ll begin the day with a short private transfer to the upper reaches of the Italian Val Ferret to start our hike. On this stage of the TMB, we’ll cross the Grand Col Ferret and into Switzerland, with rolling green meadows filled with happy cows. We’ll descend to the tiny village of Ferret and spend the night in a friendly 3-star hiker’s inn where the rooms accommodate 3-4 folks.
Overview: One of the easier hikes on your Mont Blanc tour takes you through woods and up to the delightful, lakeside village of Champex. This is a nice moderate day passing pretty waterfalls and tiny villages.
Overview: Today our Mont Blanc tour leads us through woods and meadows to the Balme pass on the border with France. As we say farewell to Switzerland we will enjoy gorgeous views of Mont Blanc and the entire Chamonix valley as we reach the pass and stop to contemplate our journey. Our descent back into France is filled with beautiful trails winding down through blueberry and alpenrose bushes. We will meet our transfer that will take us back to our hotel in Argentiere.
Overview: Our final hike takes us high above the Chamonix valley. We will hike up into the Aiguilles Rouges reserve where you’ll enjoying a balcony walk that provides unparalleled views of the entire Mont Blanc range. Along the way, you’ll visit the beautiful and popular Lac Blanc before descending by cable car to Chamonix. This is one of the region’s most outstanding walks. We will end the day by taking the famous cog train up to the Mer de Glace where we will spend the night at a historic hotel.
It is time to switch from go-go-go mode to exploration mode! Today we will explore the Mer de Glace! You can explore the ice caves ($ fee), Glaciorium (free), or there will be an optional hike option before heading back down to the valley out final 2 nights in Chamonix.
Yay, it's a FREE DAY in Chamonix - Explore the charming mountain town of Chamonix, ride the famous Aiguille du Midi cable car, or just relax! We will be meeting back up in the evening for our final farewell dinner!
After having breakfast, we will make our way to the Geneva International Airport. The drive from Chamonix to Geneva takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes and you will be dropped off at the airport by 1:00 pm. *Please ensure you leave 2-3 hours to check in, clear security, and get to your international gate.

To ensure your experience is unforgettable much of our planning is finalized in the months leading up to your trip. Scheduling of guides, permits, hotels, food planning, goodie bags, and all the little things that make our trips great are planned well in advance. Cancellations within the 180-day window incur costs that we cannot recoup. Last minute cancellations within 90 days are even harder as we often cannot fill the vacated spot on short notice.
