The Race

Hakuba will host the 12th staging of its International Classic; part of the Salomon Golden Trail National (Japan) Series!

Golden Trail National Series Japan

The "Golden Trail National Series Japan" was born in 2022. In 2024, a total of three races will be held, two in the series (Nozawa Onsen in the Central Alps) and one in the National Final (Hakuba), and a total of three runners, the top two men and women in the overall points ranking after the National Final, and one man and one woman under the age of 23, will be invited to the "Golden Trail National Series Grand Final" to be held in October 2024 (the venue will be announced later). The top three men and women in the "Golden Trail National Series Grand Final" will receive a "Golden Ticket" invitation ticket to the "Golden Trail Championship" to be held in 2025.

The event has four distance offerings; 5k, 12k, 28k and 50k.

Entries are opening in late March and we are looking forward to taking our first tour to Japan! Check out the race website here!

Tokyo

Tokyo is a brilliant and vibrant destination, your sense will be bombarded as you move around this animated hub of modern civilisation. Tokyo is trule a modern phenomenon which has risen from the ashes after World War 2 and is now home to more than 13 million people. High rises are infused with tiny street stalls and rimnders of times long afo. You will be amazed and enchanted by the colours, lights and sights of Tokyo. Some of Tokyo's standout, must see attractions include: the pulsating city lights and shopping of Shinjuku, Shibuya and Ginza, the electronic district of Akihabara and the world famous Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo Disney Sea, the amazing sumo stables, Tsukiji Fish Market, Imperial Palace, Tokyo Tower and Tokyo Skytree, along with the must see Sensoji Temple. A short day trip from Tokyo can have you touring the iconic Mount Fuji and Hakone, Kamakura or Kawagoe (both known as little Kyoto) to enjoy the sights of traditional Japanese towns or the world heritage listed shrines and temples of Nikko.

Tokyo Station

Located between the Imperial Palace and Tokyo Station, Marunouchi is one of Japan's most prestigious business districts. During the Edo Period, Marunouchi (literally "within the enclosure") was located within the outer moats of Edo Castle and contained the residences of some of Japan's most powerful feudal lords. Together with neighboring Otemachi, Marunouchi is now home to the headquarters of many of Japan's most powerful companies, particularly from the financial sector. Over the last decade, Marunouchi has been receiving a major facelift, led by the Mitsubishi Estate company, which owns a lot of the land in the district. Many older office buildings were replaced by new skyscrapers with offices on their upper floors and a variety of shops and restaurants on their lower floors. These newly opened shopping and dining complexes have revitalized the formerly unexciting business district and are drawing an increasing number of non business visitors in recent years.

Hakuba

Located just over 200km from Tokyo and Nagoya, Hakuba is located at the foot of the Japanese Alps which tower above Hakuba, reaching over 3000m above sea level. Hakuba is easy to access from all the three major cities on the main island (Honshu) of Japan, including Osaka. With over 200 runs and almost 150 lifts and gondolas across the resorts; Hakuba really has to be skied to be believed. On top of the great Powder Snow which Hakuba is famous for (Hakuba averages over 10m of snow every year), Hakuba also offers great skiing and snowboarding for the whole family. Hakuba has a balance of 40% Beginner Runs, 40% Intermediate Runs and 20% Advanced Runs. Due to Hakuba’s size and scale you will often find yourself on beautiful undisturbed runs and no lift lines. You get to enjoy more of what Hakuba has to offer. Due to the investment and infrastructure that Hakuba gained when it helped host the 1998 Nagano Winter Olympics getting around the mountain is fast and easy. Hakuba also has a great range of traditional restaurants and bars for great Après action and some of the best onsen’s Japan has to offer to help take away the aches and pains of the day.

Le Bocage Chalets

Le Bocage is conveniently located at the heart of Echoland, a popular nightlife site where more than 30 bars and restaurants can be found in walking distance. Convenience store, ski rental shops and onsen is nearby. The bus stop accessing all of the valley's ski resorts is 100m from your front door. The property offers free in-room WiFi. Le Bocage Chalets is a traditional European alpine cottage design, each charming chalet with wooden furnishings is equipped with a full kitchen and a seating area with a flat-screen TV. Private bathroom is fitted with both a bath and a shower and free toiletries are provided. Extras include a dishwasher and a washing machine. Ski storage in the complex is available. Free shuttle services are provided to and from Hakuba train station or bus terminal. Free shuttle to local supermarket is available 3 days a week.
