In the afternoon we venture to the famous local bazaar of Khan-el-Khalili. 

A labyrinth of narrow streets and passageways, it is one of the world's largest bazaars dating back to the 1300s. Khan-el-Khalili offers an experience unique to the old streets of Islamic Cairo, as well as hunt for great bargains on souvenirs, jewellery, and handicrafts. 

Your guide will also take you on a guided tour of the Islamic quarter of Cairo. You will walk through this open-air museum which is approximately one kilometer long. Many monuments including mosques, Sabeel's (water serving places for passers-by), and kuttabs (traditional schools). An enchanting discovery of the history and magic of this city.

CURRENCY

The Egyptian Pound (EGP) is the official currency of Egypt. While local markets, restaurants, and small vendors primarily accept Egyptian Pounds, US dollars and Euros are also widely used in tourist areas. Carrying both local currency and USD is recommended, as some establishments prefer cash payments. ATMs are available in major cities and airports, but not as frequently in more remote areas.
