One of our favourite trips to date - Adelaide & Kangaroo Island! Explore the art gallery or museum and the cool vibe in Adelaide, before heading down to one of Australia's best hidden gems - Kangaroo Island. There you'll see plenty of wild seals and kangaroos, crystal clear turqoise water, the remarkable Remarkable Rocks, sunrise and sunsets.
You'll stay in an Airbnb with your crew.
This is the trip for you if you are quite independent but would like to travel in a group with discrete support. And if you love nature and would like to explore!
Note: There may be some changes to the itinerary.
This morning we will meet at Sydney Airport and check-in for our flight!
Then fly to Adelaide, where you will meet your fellow traveller from Melbourne, and pick up your hire vehicle.
Visit a Japanese instalment at the Adelaide arty gallery, called Yayoi Kusama: THE SPIRITS OF THE PUMPKINS DESCENDED INTO THE HEAVENS.
NOTE: This activity is optional. It's a highly sensory experience, and might be overwhelming for some.
As an option, you can visit the South Australian Museum.
After the art gallery, go to Rundle Street, where you will find funky street cafés and restaurants.

Drive through the rolling hills of South Australia, down to Southport Beach. Grab takeaway pizza at the local shop, before catching sunset at one of the most epic sunset spots we've seen in Australia to date!
Walk down the stairs as you get a view of the long beach at golden hour (weather permitting!).
After sunset, we'll do a 30min drive to Normanville, to our Airbnb:
When you get to your Airbnb, it’s time to relax. Have a chat, play a game or have a shower before bedtime.
Get up around 7am, and have a simple breakfast before cleaning up and checking out.
Continue your drive towards Cape Jervis and the ferry to Kangaroo Island.
Leave around 7.50-8am, to arrive at the ferry 8.30am. The drive from Normanville to Cape Jervis takes about 25min.
The ferry leaves 9am and you need to be there 30min before departure, to check in.
Take the Sealink ferry to Cape Jervis, across to Kangaroo Island. You should arrive 9.45am.

Spend the afternoon driving to explore the north east of the island!
Put the stops into your Google Maps and see:
1.American River
2. Choose between lunch at Kangaroo Island brewery for a cheese & meat platter OR Oyster Farm Seafood - share a tasting platter with friends!
3. Stop to see the special salt lagoon!
4. Red Banks (avoid going too far out on the bank)
5. Nepean Bay - Stop and go down to the beach to find special shells and see the whitest sand
Go to Woolworths to buy groceries dinner for 2 nights and breakfast for another 2 days, and lunch wraps for a packed picnic lunch for tomorrow.
Cook dinner together, and watch sunset from the house or find a spot nearby!
Flinders Chase National Park is a huge park with vast landscapes, and home to the epic Remarkable Rocks, and other cool view points. Bring your camera!

We start to go south of the island and you’ll be greeted with crystal clear turquoise waters. Fishing is permitted at the jetty.
Photographers, get ready your camera as this would be one of the most spectacular views.
Some travellers have also dived here but do exercise caution!
Ready for some cuteness in action? Head down to the nesting grounds of the Australian sea lions.
Seal Bay overlooks the body of water known as the Southern Ocean. If you are lucky, you may see some sea lions waddle towards the sea for a swim.
There are 2 options – the guided tour or a self-guided boardwalk tour. Taking the guided tour would gain you access to the beach and get a close-up look at these cute little things.
According to Seal Bay, their guides do not follow a standard script but instead interpret live sea lion behaviour and what’s happening in the colony.
After a day out exploring, go for dinner at Penneshaw hotel!

Have a sleep-in, read a book or do some drawing.
Cook up breakfast together, before another day of exploring nature.

It’s the last day, but the fun isn’t over just yet. Today we're taking the ferry back across, but you'll still have time to see more of South Australia on the return road trip back to Adelaide!
Be at the ferry terminal around 9.50am.
When you return to Adelaide, have a lunch at a nice café, reminiscing on your fav moments from the trip!
You might be joined by some local Adelaide Travengers travellers too!
