Day 1 - Meet Your Fellow Travelers & Fly to Hobart

We’ll meet at Sydney domestic airport at 7:30am, then check in together. Our flight with Qantas (QF 0993) departs at 9:25am and the flight time to Tasmania is 2 hours!

Be sure to arrive at Terminal 3. We'll gather at the information booth located on the map below:

Day 1 - Explore Hobart

Start off by exploring Hobart!

Hobart is framed by the rugged figure of kunanyi / Mount Wellington and the flow of the wide River Derwent, with wilderness lingering nearby – just beyond the mountain.

Beyond mountain and river, it’s cultural and dining experiences that thrive in Australia's second-oldest city. The underground Museum of Old and New Art, aka Mona, looms large in global art circles and on the itineraries of scores of travellers.

Salamanca Markets

Check out the large Salamanca Markets! It's a street market in Salamanca Place, in Hobart.The Salamanca Market is one of Tasmania's most visited tourist attractions and has won many awards for excellence.

Grocery Shop

Once we've unpacked, we'll go for a grocery shop then cook a delicious dinner together. After dinner we can have a movie night or play some games!

Day 2 - More Hobart Exploring

After a restful sleep, we'll have a leisurely morning and cook breakfast together, then it's time to explore!

MONA museum

A day out at Mona—aka the Museum of Old and New Art—is a must-do when visiting Hobart. Leave your sensibilities at the door and embrace the eccentric.

If the weather is good, enjoy a picnic and live music outside in the garden after an afternoon exploring!

Mount Wellington

Time to explore the view and take photos of Hobart from the top of Mount Wellington. We'll drive up to the top car park to see the view from the top. There will also be a number of different walking trails to see all the different views from different sides of the mountain!

Cooking Dinner

After a wonderful day of sightseeing, we come back to our AirBnB to relax and prepare a delicious dinner

Day 3 - Drive to Port Arthur

After having breakfast, we pack up our belongings and check out of our accommodation.

Today we drive towards Port Arthur! It's a 2.5-3 hour drive, where we get to see scenery on our way.

We take a quick stop to check out Tessellated Pavement, a cool rock formation & sightseeing spot where coastal erosion has created striking patterns

Eaglehawk & Lunch at Doo-lishus

Time for a quick pitstop to check out the Blow Hole, Devils Kitchen & Tasmans Arch!

Lavender Farm in Port Arthur

Visit the Lavender Farm in Port Arthur! The peak of their bloom starts from December, but we're hoping to get to spot some purple fields.

You can also buy lavender ice cream or a smoothie at the farm!

We'll make a shopping list and find a local supermarket to buy supplies for dinner and breakfast!

Day 4 - Port Arthur Historic Site

In Port Arthur, there is a historic site that will allow you to explore the Tasmanian convict history. There will be a fun and interesting interactive exhibition and plenty of walking trails to explore around the site.

Before we hit the road for our next destination, we'll find a local cafe for some breakfast!

Day 5: Check Out

It's time to pack our bags and check out of our AirBnB

Day 5 - Fly back to Sydney

After seeing our last views over Hobart, we head towards the airport for our return home.

We are flying on Jetstar (JQ 0724) departing at 7:35pm so we'll need to be at the airport no later than 5:45pm. We arrive into Sydney at 9:20pm.

Self-managed:
When it's open for bookings, simply go to the $ invoice tab, choose package, and pay your deposit.

You will get a reminder when you need to pay the rest of the cost. Claim back from NDIS afterwards.

Plan managed:
Ask your plan manager if you can spend your funding on this trip. Once confirmed, pay the deposit and claim back when we send you your receipt. We will then send the outstanding invoice to your plan manager.

Insurance: It is highly recommended you have travel insurance. Travengers’ travel insurance does not cover travellers. Make sure your insurance covers you for your needs and activities and any health conditions you may have.
