Once we arrive into Christchurch, we will collect our luggage and hire car.

We will drive three hours south-west to enter the Mackenzie Basin and enjoy the picturesque road trip as we approach Lake Tekapo. 

We will arrive our first Insta opportunity - the Church of the Good Shepherd. Placed just by the lake, the altar window frames a perfect view of the Southern Alps beyond the lake and there are also walking tracks following the lake shore, for huge views of the Mackenzie Basin, we can hike up to Mount John Observatory.  

We will check into our first accommodation near Lake Tekapo.

We will likely stop for dinner along our travels before arriving at our destination!

An early breakfast, before checking out and making our way to Queenstown.

Right near Lake Tekapo you'll find Lake Pulaki, a complete turquoise lake that may captivate you. Stop to take photos and inhale the fresh New Zealand air.

We will drive the ultimate road trip from Lake Tekapo to Queenstown today. We may be tempted at every turn to stop and take in the stunning views and attractions of the Otago Region, but the town that’s a compulsory stop for us is Wanaka.  
 
The resort town is a South Island wonder, providing the gateway to Cardrona Alpine Resort. Arguably New Zealand’s favourite ski area – it’s a place to visit for both winter skiing and snowboarding, as well as a range of summer activities. 

We will stop for lunch at Big Fig, and also check out #ThatWanakaTree before continuing our drive to Queenstown.

After arriving into Queenstown, we will check into our accommodation.

After checking into our accommodation, we will head out to our first activity in Queenstown - the Stopover Jet through canyons. Find out more here.

The only way to experience our Canyons, see their beauty and feel their power, is to come on a journey with us, the world’s most exciting jet boat ride. A unique combination of beauty and power, it’s an experience like no other, blending pristine natural landscape with wall to wall canyon action from start to finish!

After our boat experience, we will explore Queenstown centre.

We will grab some groceries (including some lunch for the Milford Sound activity tomorrow), cook dinner and play games.

We will need an early night because we have an early start in the morning!

After a very early breakfast, we will leave for our coach and cruise tour of Milford Sound.

Deep within Fiordland National Park lies Milford Sound, New Zealand’s most stunning natural attraction. With its magical combination of mountain peaks, ink-dark waters and superb dramatic forest-clad cliffs, it must be seen to be believed.

We will grab some dinner together at Boardwalk after our boat day before getting into bed for a restful sleep!

After eating breakfast in our accommodation, we will make sure our bags are packed up and loaded in the car, before making our way to our first activity of the day; TSS Earnslaw Cruise (booked for 11am).

After lunch, we will begin our roadtrip to Geraldine where we will spend the night.

We will stop at Arrowtown along our way which is a living historic settlement with many stories to tell. Wander by the restored cottages and explore gold mining sights along the Arrow river.

After arriving into Geraldine, we will check into our accommodation.

After exploring today we will cook a dinner together and chat about our adventures!

Once we have eaten our breakfast, we will check out of our accommodation and start heading back to Christchurch for our flight home.

Upon arriving in Christchurch we will stretch our legs and get some lunch in the city before heading to the airport to check in for our flights!

We say goodbye to NZ and our new friends and jump on our planes to head home!
