ROAD TRIP TO NEWCASTLE

We gear up and get ready for a road trip to Newcastle. You can request music in the car!

The drive is around 2.5 hours.

Lunch at Merewether Beach - Blue Door Kiosk

After a long drive we'll stretch the legs and enjoy a relaxing cafe lunch on the beach!

Walk Bathers Way including the ANZAC Memorial Walk and Strzelecki Lookout

Discover the incredible Newcastle coastline on foot by exploring some of the many walking tracks. The Bathers Way Walk links Merewether Ocean Baths to Nobbys Beach. At 6km long, it’s one of the longer and most rewarding coastal walks and forms part of the Great North Walk from Merewether to Sydney. It takes in all of Newcastle's beaches and some of our most iconic sites, including the Bogey Hole and Newcastle's ANZAC Memorial Walk.

After a peaceful walk in nature, we'll put together a shopping list and make our way to the supermarket to purchase some supplies. There is a Woolworths right near our AirBnB!

Day 2 - Cook breakfast together

Get up for sunrise or sleep in a little longer, before cooking brekkie with your crew!

(You'll be able to tell the guides what you like/don't like for breakfast when you go shopping the day before).

CAMEL RIDING AT THE SAND DUNES

When we're full & happy, we head to Stockton Beach for camel riding! The sand dunes and camels makes it feel like we’re on a different continent🐪

20 minute day rides depart approximately every half hour.

We'll grab a quick bite to eat before our Dolphin Cruise at The Wood Oven!

DOLPHIN WATCH CRUISE

It ain't over yet!

After the Camel ride, we head to Nelson Bay Marina for the Dolphin Discovery Cruise. Our cruise departs at 1:30pm, but we need to arrive at 1:00pm to get checked in.

Explore Fingal Bay at Sunset

If we have the energy, we can check out the beautiful Fingal Bay - a glorious white sand beach tucked under Fingal Head.

Fingal Beach is one of the most photographed locations in Port Stephens.

Cook dinner together

Plan what to make for dinner, go for a grocery shop, and head home for a rest before practicing cooking at home.

Tomaree Head Summit Walk - Amazing Views!

Take the invigorating short walk to the summit of Tomaree Head, 161 metres above the Port Stephens entrance. As you hike the 2.2km return track, you’ll enjoy unparalleled views of idyllic Port Stephens and its coastline.

RETURN HOME

After a wonderful weekend away, we make our drive back home, with plenty of photos, memories and new connections.

Drop off will be the same location as the pick up points.

Newcastle for Tim at 12pm.

Coles Turramurra for Amber and Gavin at 3pm.

Sydney Airport for Tom at 4pm.

HOW TO REGISTER/BOOK:

Register by clicking "Book Now" and follow the prompts. When bookings are open, select your package and pay your deposit to keep your spot. Please sect the right package based on your travel needs.

Deposit: $536.50

Remaining: $1,609.50

In comparison, the MAX NDIS rate for a 3 day trip excluding flights is: $3,053.68.

The cost is within NDIS price guidelines, and you should be able to use your NDIS funds for the full amount.

Self-managed:
When it's open for bookings, simply go to the $ invoice tab, choose package, and pay your deposit.

You will get a reminder when you need to pay the rest of the cost.
Claim back from NDIS afterwards.

Plan managed:
Ask your plan manager if you can spend your funding on this trip. Once confirmed, pay the deposit and claim back when we send you your receipt.
We will then send the outstanding invoice to your plan manager.

Insurance: It is highly recommended you have travel insurance. Travengers’ travel insurance does not cover travellers. Make sure your insurance covers you for your needs and activities and any health conditions you may have.

Drinks: Alcohol, drinks, morning tea/afternoon tea and other snacks is not included in the price.

Transport to meeting point: Transport to/from meeting point is not included.
